Google Added To S&P 500

Google has been added to the S&P 500 meaning many mutual funds will now buy more shares of Google. Google's stock price has gone up almost $28.76, an 8.41% increase. 8.5% is average increase in price that a stock goes up after being added to the index. Google might have known about this earlier so they probably rushed to get Google Finance finished for the day they would enter this list of elite companies. They will be added to the fund at the end of trading on March 31.

Its So Beautiful - Google Finance

Today Google came out with Google Finance.

It is by far the best finance service I have seen. I often use Yahoo or MSN finance to look for stocks and prices, but Google Finance blows them away. It shows the graph of what happened to the stock price during the day with articles of what caused the change. I can see Apple's stock drop when articles about it losing some of its market share in France. I see Google's went up when the news came out about Google Finance. It is ten times easier to look up stocks using Google Finance then the others. This is now one of my favorite Google services and will soon become the standard for stock information. Just go look at it; I can't describe how great this is.

Google Wins!

A federal judge today ruled that Google would have to give the DoJ 50,000 random urls from it's database. This is a major victory for Google since the DoJ wanted 1,000,000 URLs and a weeks worth of search requests. This is a victory for both online rights activists and users of Google. Google may not always be perfect, but this time they stood up for what is right. AOL, Yahoo and Microsoft gave up the results without a fights, so one can see which of the companies are "evil."

Even though Google did something bad that's nothing compared to what Microsoft and Yahoo have done. Working with China- Fairly Bad, Doing Everything you can to help the Chinese Government -Really Bad. Yahoo and Microsoft give the identification of bloggers to the Chinese while Google creates a search page that blocks some words. It is either this or the Chinese Government uses another search engine. Ether Filtered Google or no Google. I think the people of China would rather have a limited funding search engine than no Google at all. Heck China blocked Google before and any search engine in China has to listen to the government. Lets support the search engine that does the least business in China, Google.

Google is Helping China

Hold the line Google. To everyone dismay Google is helping china to censor the internet. They won't allow any blogs or web mail on Google's google.cn site which is the new cornerstone in the Great Chinese Firewall. It is disappointing that you stand up to the DoJ, which is great, but fail to stand up against China. I'm hoping this isn't as bad as it sounds but only time will tell.

Bring it On (Google vs Department of Justice)

Google has refused to give up personal information about its users and what they search for to the United States government. Google is now being sued by the DoJ for not handing over this information.

Google should fight this with everything they've got. Microsoft and Yahoo sold out and gave their users information away. Because of this lawsuit Google's share price dropped $70 and they lost 20 billion dollars in their market cap! 20 billion dollars to protect the people that use Google. If Google's going to go down then it should make its stand here. In an era where information is power and your private information is being taken from you there is no one to stand up for you. Organizations like the ACLU try but there is just too many invasions of privacy. Secret government wire taps and now what ever you search for is analyzed. Microsoft doesn't care about its users. They give out information on bloggers to China and now information on all their users to the US Government. Yahoo does the same as Microsoft and what does Google do? Lose billions of dollars in value and even more in future business. Google isn't a company. It isn't a search engine. It is an idea of helping people and standing up for your rights. If Google were interested in making money do you think they would have not given the DoJ your records? Google stood up and said that this is too far. This is where we draw the line. I call upon all the people of the world to support Google. Stop using Yahoo and MSN search. Don't buy that next version of Microsoft Office. Use FireFox instead of Internet Explorer. Don't download that Yahoo toolbar. Don't buy that Xbox 360. Make your stand with Google and say you have rights. I'm not saying burn every computer with windows on it but show these companies that you have rights and you will stand up with Google for them. Battle lines are being drawn. Which side are you on?

Google's Deal With CBS

Google's partnership with CBS will allow users to access content from CBS programs much like how itunes does. They will provide new shows and classic shows like The Brady Bunch and Star Trek. The cost will vary but most shows will cost $1.99. Google Video Store will also provide NBA basketball games for about $4.99.

Google is partnering with CBS to create pay-tv shows using the Google Video Store

Motorola is also partnering with Google to have Google search on the phones

Google's stock price hit 470

And a new announcement at Larry Page's keynote speech might still come. They probably will announce the CBS deal but it could be something more.

Google Beats 450 and could go up even futher today

Yesterday Google's stock price went up to $451. Today in early morning trading it hit 454 and could go as high as 460 today.

In bigger news, today Google's Larry Page will probably announce a partnership between CBS and Google to deliver shows using Google Video. This will probably be similar to the itunes-NBC deal except Google shows will most likely be free. Or hopefully it could be something more.

Google Pridicted to Go to $600 By the End of 2006

Google has been predicted buy another firm to go to $575. This caused the stock to rise $20 to $435. With this continued rapid expansion and a probably a new Google product coming out on Friday who knows what could happen. I predict within the next 3 years Google will have a revolutionary technology so my 3 year prediction is $1000. It sounds high but if you look at Google's progress it might be even higher than that. Anyway in the near future look for some new changes in this blog as I continue to update it and get some more readers. Google PC

Some sources reveal that Google is in talks with Wal-Mart to sell a Google PC. This low cost PC could revolutionise the industry and slowly drive Microsoft out of business. If there is such a product it would be announced on Friday when Larry Page, one of the co-founders of Google, discusses it during his keynote speech at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. If there is a Google PC than it would operate on Google's own operating system. Google has a long history of making low cost PCs since Google essentially runs off of a network of PCs that are built at Google. They have been doing this ever since it started in the late 90s when Sergey Brin and Larry Page hand assembled the first computers that powered Google at Stanford University.

Google To Buy 5% of AOL

Google is likely to buy 5% of AOL when it has its IPO later this year. This will help with the AOL-Google relationship since 10% of Google's business comes from AOL.

Also I'm reading David Vise's The Google Story and it is a great read for anyone who is interested in Google or the search business in general.

Ok today Google broke the $380 mark and is on the way to $400

Whats going to happen is it will go down to about 360 and then by the end of the year up to $420 ish since Google does well in the last half of the year

More reasons to like Google, i bought my first share a few months ago at $180 and its doubled since than. I made $30 today doing nothing because of Google. Because of Google i can write this blog. Because of Google i can find info about everything. Because of Google news i can find topics to write about. Because of Google i can get as many email accounts as i want. Because of Google sidebar i found out what price Google is at. Because of Google i saw all of today's headlines personalized for me when i came home. Google has done everything a company can to help people and still make money. Can anyone think of a company that has done so much other than Google?

Rumors of a ebay style Google store came true today when bloggers discovered Google Base the so called database of everything. Speculation was that it could include online auctions and classified ads, but Google hasn't commented on what it really is. Could this be the one technology that destroys Microsoft? Probably not but since Google haven't released anything recently this might be the big thing they raised the 4 billion dollars for. We will just have to wait and see

Google tested a new product and no one is sure what it is. Could it be gmoney or an ebay type service? On this news ebay stock prices fell 4% but Google says that it is just a way for people to submit their content to Google, but no one believes them. Also a glitch is currently causing www.google.com to be ranked 8/10 using page rank. Normally it is 10/10 but i assume Google will have this fixed soon.

And I regret to say that the mother of civil rights Rosa Parks died on Monday. We will never forget what happened that day in 1955 that started the movement that finally fulfilled the promise in the Declaration of Independence "that all men are created equal."

Google Share Prices Break Recored By over $20

Google's gross revenue shot up 96% to 1.58 billion this year in the 3rd quarter and its stock price went up to $342 about 11%. With this they will be able to help beat Microsoft. Most of this revenue was from text ads that are placed on google searches and about 1 billion in net revenue

Microsoft has allied with RealNetworks the maker of the Real media player and Yahoo to combine their instant messaging systems.

Real Networks had a lawsuit for 1 billion for Microsoft use of the windows monopoly to promote windows media player. Lawsuit was will be settled for about 700 million to be paid over the next 18 months.

They will also work together on making DRM stronger and try to drive Apple out of the market of online purchasing of songs

Google and Comcast are interested in buying AOL from Time Warner and with this Google will have the resources to beat Microsoft and become the next slightly less evil monopolizing technology provider

Google also partnered with Sun Microsystems to help create online office software to compete with Microsoft office. In this way Google will slowly take over what Microsoft does and add features like Google Print and Google Earth that Microsoft will have to develop after and better than Google.

Google print is a program that searches books and has run into trouble because some say it is a violation of copyright law. This argument has two major flaws 1. Any publisher or author can say that they don’t want their book indexed and 2. It demonstrates fair use under copyright law.)

To one ungoogle thing for once

Don't download itunes 6.0. You don't need it unless you have a video ipod. (And if you do listen to technolotics to why you shouldn't have one) And it took me a few hours to get it to work again. If you have problems and you have windows make sure you have downloaded all the updates from Microsoft.

Google Reader

This is the artical that hopfully will get on technolotics

Recently Google released Google Reader a program that uses RSS feeds to help you view your information faster and better than before. To use it all you have to have is a gmail account and you can subscribe to different feeds like www.technolotics.com, and The New York Times. It is very similar to a program called Web Clips which runs in Google Sidebar. For those of you who don’t know about Google Sidebar it is Google Desktop 2.0 and takes up about 2 inches of the right side of the screen. From this you can talk online using Google Talk, view stock prices, read your gmail, customized news, web clips, and even listen to evil DRM encrypted itunes. It can also search your computer for AIM chats, websites, programs, all files and folders. If you have Google sidebar there is no need to use reader because it is kind of slow and it doesn’t automatically update the list of what you read like web clips does. Google Reader also doesn’t work for all sites. I couldn’t get http://www.thegoogleblog.blogspot.com/ to work and to get technolotics to work I had to try it a few times. Not one of their best programs but it serves its purpose. Since it’s only in its beta I would wait before using it more and stick to just reading the sites or using Web Clips.

Technolotics and Thegoogleblog

Technolotics is a podcast about tech and politics. It is a great show and I would recomend listening to it whenever you get a chance. I offered to write about Google for them and they said yes which is great and should get some more readers for thegoogleblog. I'll be writing a short paragraph about google and they will put it on the show and i'll post it here as well if you want to read it. Google To Open NASA Facilty

Google will open a 1 million square foot facility on NASA property but what they will do in relation to NASA is unknown. Rumors range from working with NASA to organize data to the really unlikely Google Space Ships. But was has been released by NASA is that they will cooperate on project like organising data and allowing Google to use its super computer. With this news and the past info on Google i would have to say that Yahoo isn't going to make it for long and Microsoft will have to start stopping Google is they will survive for another 10 years

Google Bids to Provide WiFi to San Francisco

Google is bidding with other companies to provide free WiFi to the entire city of San Francisco. Some speculate that Google will use its over 7 billion dollars in cash to create a national WiFi network. My opinion is that they will do something fairly big and buy Baidu.com. I also think in the next 5 years Google will do something big and revolutionise an industry. The next few weeks will show what Google will do with its cash and it will be big.

Since baidu.com is their main competition in the large China market and only worth 3 billion why not buy it and reach the second largest internet market in the world. Google has shown interest in China so it makes sense to purchase the competition and take over.

Remember that this hasn't happened or probably wont happen just an idea of what might happen.

7 Year Old Internet Giant

Today google turned 7 and did it with a bang by expanding their search index to 1000 times what it was when they started
On a pre-birthday gift google stock hit the record yesterday at $321. But is back down to $313. But since their IPO of $85 I think they should be happy.

Currently Google's shares are at 316.09 which is close to the current record of 319.22. This news has been great for Google and their shares have almost quadrupled since their IPO of $85 per share. Now that Google has their 4 billion dollar second IPO that should give them lots of cash to help beat the competition

This program that uses satellite images of the entire earth is one of the best i have ever seen. Easy to use you can find any place in the world and look at it. Great pictures that allow you to see things that are less than 1 foot across for lightly populated areas and for places like New York the ability to see 3D buildings and near perfect resolution. Great views of houses and is better at directions then mapquest. The basic version is free and its all you need. 10/10

The great thing is this proves that microsoft is going to fight google earler than thought and now in the lawsuit names them as a "direct competitor" I just find it strange on the day that google breakes the reccord it gets sued to bring the price down to near 300

Google again surpasses the current record and broke $300. Its high currently was set at about 3 pm eastern time at 309.25. It broke 300 on June 19th and losed at 304.10. Also the google toolbar is great. I'll make a post about it later.

EPIC 2014 Not Far Away?

Well those of you who watched EPIC 2014 the fake documentary about Google in the future (See Second Post Entitled EPIC 2014) saw that The New York Times sues Google for violation of copyright law. Now Google is being questioned about violations of copyright law because they are scanning books to be used in Google searches. The strange part is a former New York Times editor said that Google is breaking copyright law... This is getting really weird

Well now I have a new link to therenegadecoder which is a blog about coding and linix. Also the Google PageRank for the Google blog is now 5/10. After useing this for about 2 weeks the only 10/10 i found was the Google homepage... Google Breaks 260

Ok on Tuesday (I think) Google shares hit $260 for the first time ever. It was at one point up to 265 but went down. Today Google for a change went down. This was the first time it has happend in about a month. During this last surge Google went up from about 180 to 260 so I can't really complain. Hopfully this was just temporary and will continue to rise soon.

Google breaks 250

Sorry i havent posted in a while, but for the 7th day in a row Google stock price broke the all time reccord and hit 250. It is currently at about 255 but was at 258 during the day. I don't think that google stock has gone down since the begining of May. Well i'm glad that it is still going up since i do own one share, which i bought at about 200 just before it went down to the 180s and then back up now

Google share prices at about 7:00 were just 10 cents form $240 before dropping about 39 cents BUT NOW AS I CHECK AGAIN IT IS AT 239.97 THE CURRENT RECCORD AND IT IS CURRENTLY AT 239.99 240.10 at 8:09 Eastern time goog broke 240 and hit the reccord

Yesterday Google share prices hit 239.97 which was almost $10 over the past 52 week reccored set the day before. This is the 4th day in a row that google broke its current reccord.
